Today was the solar eclipse, with totality (or near totality) across a large swath of the United States.
I’ve been looking forward to it for several months now. This may be my last chance to experience this phenomenon.
We had some cloud cover when I was out walking the dogs this morning, but not enough to obscure the view of the eclipse. But slowly, over the span of a few hours, more clouds rolled in. Ultimately we had total coverage by the time the eclipse was to be at its peak in our area.
I went outside anyway during the peak time, in hopes that there might be some evidence of the Sun disappearing. No such luck.
I didn’t get to see the dragon swallowing the Sun this time around. It is supposed to happen again in 2044 so I’m told. I’ll just have to stick around until then.
Stupid clouds.
