Beryl Slams Into Houston

  • by

This morning Beryl, a Category 1 hurricane, slammed into Houston. Lots of wind and rain.

We didn’t have much damage, just part of the fence blew over. No power, and it isn’t likely to come back on for at least a few days.

My step-daughter had her fence blow away, along with the trampoline in the back yard. They also had water coming into the house from the attic. They have very spotty phone service. And no power.

Other friends and neighbors had fences blown down. And still no one has power. That’s one of the most problematic things about hurricanes blowing through. Once you lose power everything else becomes that much more difficult.

Hopefully Houston can get back on its feet swiftly. It may take several weeks but it can be done. Stay strong folks.
