What ideas are you working on?

  • by

After talking about where I get my ideas from yesterday, I figured I’d let you know some of the ideas that I’m working on or the Muse has thrown at me that she wants to write. Keep in mind that some of these are not just single books, but entire series of books, or ongoing serials.

1) flash fiction zombie story to finish off the collection so it can be published

2) multiple flash fiction stories based on AD&D and TTRPG tropes

3) a Christmas story for Cat Gerlach’s final Indie Author Advent calendar (and completing the collection of the tales I’ve written for it to be published)

4) a set of B-movie inspired stories (the first two of which are written and need heavy revision)

5) a Weird Western that is written and needs heavy revision

6) a collection of written short stories that need to be put together and published

7) a series of children’s mystery tales in the vein of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and The Three Investigators

8) a soap opera

9) a supernatural soap opera / homage to 90’s media (hopefully placating the Muse and writing something I’m interested in)

10) a 98 volume pulp epic (which was the first major writing project my Muse wanted to work on)

11) three different comic series

… plus a whole lot more.

This is why I have so much mental churn.

I’ve got so many projects that I want to work on. And I can’t seem to focus on doing just one of them. Thus, I’m spending a lot of time spinning my wheels. Ultimately I’m going to have to just pick something and go with it, and shove everything else off to the side.

I started off the summer with the intention of writing two zombie flash fiction stories. I’ve got one done. I need to write the other.

Then Cat’s Indie Author Advent calendar story needs to be turned in by the beginning of September. I’ve got an idea for that one, so now I just need to sit down and write it.

So, I now have a definitive goal. Get the above stories done. Then deciding on the next project will be interesting.

What do you think, my Hordeling? Do any of the above projects catch your fancy? Leave a comment and let me know..
