It is the calm before the storm. Or perhaps the eye of the hurricane.
The troops are prepared for battle tomorrow. All is as prepared as it can be. There are probably many small details that have been overlooked. We’ll correct them as we go.
It has been many weeks. The preparations have gone well. Extra troops were brought in to cover weaknesses and flaws in the existing infrastructure. Their assistance was invaluable.
There is a sense of unease. Or is it anticipation? A sort of restlessness hinting at foreboding doom, yet calm as well. Peace. Serenity.
It will start early. Those from the other side may come in waves, or individually. Probably waves. A swarm filled with frenzied activity, followed by lulls were everything is dead silent.
We must be ever watchful, alert. There are those on the other side that can be sneaky, absconding with valuables with no recompense. They will whine and wheedle and worm out from under an already fair and equitable trade. They may scheme or scam there way in, trying to get everything they can for as little as they can, or noting at all.
Of course, we hope that everything goes smoothly, the trades are all equitable, and joy and happiness rule the day. That would be the optimal outcome.
Tomorrow we have an estate sale.
We’ve been gearing up for this for quite a while now. Many long days of cleaning and organizing, sorting into keep / get rid of piles, donating and selling to resale shops. It all comes down to this. The penultimate push to get rid of things. If we don’t get rid of things by way of estate sale, I’m not sure who will end up with everything. Probably more donations to charity and selling to resale shops. Friends and family have already gotten their shares of the loot.
Wish us luck, my Hordeling. Over the next two days we face our greatest challenge of cleaning out the house. Bargain hunters.
