Coming up on the last few rooms to go through. We started on the Study today.
We moved a lot of shtuff into the Study to get it out of the way during the estate sale. I went through a stack of books we are letting go. I checked them online to see if they might be worth selling instead of going to Half-Price Books. Out of the giant stack only five turned out to be valuable enough to warrant trying to sell on eBay. I boxed up all the books going out of the house for future transport to HPB.
The wife led me into a trap after I’d gone through the stack of books. We had all the books set up for display for the estate sale. She said I could go through and pick out ones I wanted to keep. I asked if she was sure she wanted to do that, because I was likely to get quite a few. She said she was sure. I should have known then it was a trap.
I went through and grabbed a small stack off the first set of shelves. She said I could continue on to the next set of shelves. I pulled a smaller stack from it. Then I moved on to the third set of shelves and pulled an even smaller stack from it. When I finished getting all my selections, the wife decided that it was too many books to pack and haul with us. So she said “Pick three out of the last stack you really want.”

Grrrrr.
We had errands to run so the discussion got shelved (no pun intended.)
I suspect that the wife may relent and I’ll get to keep my selections, but that will be an argument for another time.
The other fun sorting task of the day turned out to be a box of salt and pepper shakers. The wife’s grandmother used to collect them and it seems we ended up with them. I had to photograph them all as the wife intends to sell them on eBay.
The weather report says thunderstorms are expected in the area and I hear the first rumblings as I type this. I’m signing off now so I can get this posted before the power blips out and messes up my computer.
Have a good night, my Hordeling.
