The Fourth of July is upon us once again. This is the day we over here in the States celebrate throwing off British rule and establishing a free and democratic republic.
Usually there is much food involved – hamburgers and hot dogs cooked on the grill, potato salad, macaroni salad, beans, cole slaw. Apple pie for dessert. And sweet tea. (Texas does not recognize unsweet tea.) And in some celebratory parties, beer. Lots of beer.
And of course, fireworks. It’s just not the Fourth without a display of bright bombs bursting in the air with great big booms associated with them. It’s usually a good idea to keep your animals inside on this night.
I will be spending the evening at the hospital with the wife. Hopefully we will be able to see a fireworks display from her window. If not, there’s always fireflies.
If you celebrate the Fourth, I hope you’re having a great day. If not, well I hope you’re having a great day anyway.
See you tomorrow, my Hordeling.
