Spent a chunk of the day going through more boxes and putting things away. I feel like I’m finally making some progress.
At this point I’ve been through almost every box in the house besides the ones in the Christmas room. Those will have to be done by the wife as only she knows what she needs to decorate the trees from among the contents of a hundred (100) or so boxes.
I’ve only got the boxes in the second bedroom to finish getting through.
A lot of what I unpacked today was clothes. The wife should really go through the clothes and decide if there is anything that she can let go of and then let it go. I hung up a bunch of my clothes, and even got a few things into the master bedroom closet. The wife will take up most of it so I figured I’d best claim some space of my own before she packs it to the walls with her shtuff.

The crowning achievement of today was finding a scarf handmade for me by a dear fried who has passed away. I still miss her and cherish this gift from her. I didn’t get it into the box of things I was able to bring up with me in the car as I drove the dogs to the new home. There’s only so much room you an pack things into when the dogs are taking up so much space. Anyway, I’m very happy to have found the scarf. I will need it in a few moths when things start to get cold here.
I even managed to get some books up on the shelves. That always makes me happy.
The last thing I did was gather up a few DVDs I didn’t get listed on eBay before we left so I can finally get them up and hopefully sold.
I’m beginning to feel like things are beginning to get organized. I’m also thinking that as I put away all this shtuff that adopting a more minimalist lifestyle might not be a bad idea. We pared down a lot before we moved but I’m thinking we could do more. I think I’m beginning to understand the old saying “you can’t take it with you.”
I hope all is going well in your life, my Hordeling.
