Once again the Earth has circled (ellipsed?) around the Sun and we find ourselves at the end of the calendar year. Or at least, the way I reckon the calendar.
If you’re new here, or you’ve forgotten since the last time I explained this, I start the New Year on August 4. Don’t ask why, just go with it. You’ll be happier that way.
I have twelve months in my calendar, all with thirty days each. That gives us three hundred and sixty days (360), leaving five (or six in leap years) days leftover to sync up with the rest of the world.
Today, July 30, is the first of those ‘leftover days’, and as such, I use it to mark the first day of Festival.
Festival is a week(-ish) long celebration of fun and frivolity, for no other reason than to do it.
So, my Hordeling, go out and have fun for the next five days!
