It turns out the wife is not coming home today after all.
Instead this was the last day of IV antibiotics. We managed to get her out for a brief visit home so she could pet the doggies and watch a little TV. As soon as that was done it was back to the long-term care facility so she could get her final round of antibiotics.
I’m assured that she will be released to my care anytime after 10:00 AM tomorrow. Hopefully that is true. Maybe we can go out for a celebratory lunch.
Apropos of nothing, an odd thing happened the other day as I was driving over to the long-term care facility.
There was a car directly in front of me that had our exact license plate number except for the last digit. Different make, model, and color car, but almost exactly the same plate. I thought it was amusing.
Immediately my Muse started spinning scenarios involving car crashes and someone seeing the license plate of the car in front of me confuses it with our license plate and I get blamed for it all. I love my Muse and the way she throws stories at me all the time, but it’d be nice if the ones involving me personally would be a little nicer. Less doom and gloom.
At any rate it will be nice to have the wife back home. I’ll be playing chauffeur as she has doctor appointments this week after she leaves the long-term care facility, as well as some social gatherings with people who have been waiting for her release.
So, life as usual, my Hordeling. I’m looking forward to it.
