The wife used to be a professional photographer. She took pictures of models for local papers, some portraits, things like that. Consequently, she has thousands of photos.
She has also recently discovered A.I. image generation. Honestly, she’s like a kid at Christmas. She likes using it but gets frustrated because she has a hard time getting images the way she wants them to be. I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to prompting generative A.I. to create images. I can’t help her out with getting the exact image she wants. I suppose I’m going to have to start learning how to do it so I can help her. She creates an image, prints it out, then wants me to hang it up somewhere.
Anyway, back to all those photos. Since we moved into the new house, she’s been going nuts hanging pictures everywhere. Well, more accurately, making me hang pictures everywhere. She’s got them on nearly every square inch of available space. She’s got them on the wall going up the stairs. One wall in the living room is covered with photos of the kids and grandkids. We’ve bought and installed shelves so she can put more pictures on them.
We’re running out of wall space.
I bring this up because the wife has been doing semi-clandestine things at Michael’s, the craft store. She’s been talking to them about frames and some picture she needs framed. It seems that the picture is going to be my Christmas gift. Wonderful! I know all this because I have to drive her to the store, then leave her at the custom framing desk, then wander the store until she’s ready to go.
After hanging more pictures today, I asked her about my Christmas gift. Mainly, where did she intend to hang it?
Turns out that she won’t be hanging it up. She has an easel that she intends to display the picture on. In the dining room.
OK, that might not be the final resting place. It might end up in a different room. Either way, it is good that it won’t be hung on the walls because we are rapidly running out of places to hang things. Did I mention that already? By the time Christmas rolls around, I’ll probably have to figure out some way to mount pictures to the ceiling.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, my Hordeling.
