My goodness. A whole week – gone! Sorry about the radio silence, my Hordeling.
Much of that is due to the supernatural soap opera I’m writing. (Have you read it yet? You can still catch up at https://jameshusum.substack.com/)
A lot of it is juggling things in my schedule so I can have time to write both the soap opera and these missives. So far, it looks like I’m not doing very well at it. And of the two, since I intend to make the soap opera a paying gig (I will close the free posts at some point and put it all behind a paywall) it is getting the time and dedicated effort.
I’ll get things worked out soon so I can get back to doing both. I’m not ignoring you.
As for the soap opera, it is going along well so far. I’ve had twelve people sign up for subscriptions, one of them even going for a paid subscription already. And of those twelve people, I don’t know who five of them are! That’s kind of mind-blowing to me at this stage of the writing game. Complete strangers are following my work. My ego says that is only to be expected, and everybody should love whatever I write. The more down-to-earth me hopes it isn’t just a fluke and more people start following and enjoying the saga.
In other news, the desk is starting to come together. My friend made it over again today to continue working on it. The section behind the desk that will anchor it in place and attach it to the wall is done.
We’ve even got the main part of the desk attached.
What’s left is getting the doors and shelves reattached. That’s going to take a little extra design work as most of the hinges got bent and aren’t usable when the desk disintegrated during the moving process.
Progress has been made and I’m looking forward to the desk being completed. Once it is done I can get some bookshelves moved upstairs, unbox my books and get them all shelved again.
Beyond that, I’m just keeping on keeping on. The wife has had some health issues recently so I’m taking care of her. I’m also working on getting some of her books ready for publication.
