I’ve started working on the first of my five flash fiction stories to round out my ten story collection.
The wife and I were eating at a restaurant the other day and to pass the time we started discussing our writing projects.
I told her what I was trying to do. She started coming up with ideas.
She has good ideas, but they don’t always gel with the way I do stories. Still, it is valuable to listen to her because there is usually the seed of a story within her idea that I can fertilize and grow into the type of story I do write.
I’m trying to go by Holly Lisle’s How To Write Flash Fiction That Doesn’t Suck and working on the openings for the five stories. Then will come the middles for each one, and finally the ends. I’m hoping they all come out well, and if not, that’s what revision is for.
We’ll see how things turn out..
