For a decade, friend and fellow author Katherina Gerlach has run her Indie Authors’ Advent Calendar. The calendar starts on December 1 and goes through December 24, just like an Advent calendar. Instead of a tasty treat to eat, you get a story each day.
I’ve been in the calendar a number of times over the years. It is always a pleasure, especially as Cat does a fantastic job collecting tales and getting them set to display. Each day you get an email with the story and an extra little ‘gift’ – either a extra story, or a recipe, or a funny picture. You never know what you’re going to get. At the end of the twenty-four days, Cat compiles all the stories into an ebook and sends it to the folks on the mailing list.
You can sign up on the mailing list at https://adventcalendar.katharinagerlach.com/signup.html. Even if you do it a few days after the stories start, you won’t regret it. You can go to the calendar on her website to catch up on any stories you may have missed, and you’ll get all the stories in the ebook as well.
Sadly, this will be the last time Cat is running the Advent calendar. It’s been a good run with lots of good stories over the years. Who knows? Maye it will be resurrected some day.
And yes, I have a story in this year’s calendar. 🙂
I’m compiling all the stories I’ve written for the Indie Authors’ Advent Calendar over the years in order to publish them in an ebook. I’m aiming to get it out before Christmas. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, do yourself a favor, sign up on the email list, and get a season full of stories. I promise you won’t get spam or be bombarded by sales pitches. You will get a lot of good tales.
