Things started well enough this morning. Cold weather with a little wind while walking the dogs, but a dark and cloudy sky. No sunlight.
Had to run out for an errand. Still cold, starting to get damp, with rain forecasted.
Packed up some things that need to be mailed out. Went to lunch with the wife and step-daughter. Went to the Post Office to mail the packages only to find it was closed today in remembrance of former President Jimmy Carter who passed away a few days ago.
Got back home just before it seriously started raining.
There is little else to do on afternoons like this. I find it difficult to concentrate on work. Or read. The dogs were all sacked out around the living room on chairs and the floor.
I ended up doing the only reasonable thing to do in such a situation.
I took a nap. Climbed into bed, got under the down comforter and drifted off. It was a good nap.
If I could have focused on reading the second best thing to do would have been curling up in a chair with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book and just read all day.
Tomorrow’s forecast is still cold, but not as much, if any rain. Hopefully less rain will make for a better day.
