I managed to survive the day of frigid weather.
The beasties let me sleep in until 5:20 A.M. or so, thus I rolled out of bed and got some work done.
Then we went out for the morning walks. It wouldn’t have been so bad but we had winds blowing. They had died down some from the forty (40) miles per hour winds overnight, but they were strong enough to make things very uncomfortable. I cut Magdalena’s walk short so I could get in from the cold. She did her business while walking so it’s all good.
I got to stay inside for most of the morning and got all my usual routine done.
In the early afternoon we had to venture out again for the wife’s doctor appointment. The temperature had risen three or four degrees but the winds had significantly dropped, making things a little more tolerable.
The high point of the day came after the appointment. Things went well and the wife wanted a treat for being a good girl at the doctor’s office. We stopped at a new local eatery and picked up a baklava for her and a brownie for me. Tasty!
Then back home to do some more work, feed the dogs and get dinner going. A relaxing evening of watching TV and chatting online with some friends.
And now … bedtime. Hibernation. The best thing about cold weather is not being conscious of it. Sleep lets me blissfully ignore the cold. The problem is that I may not want to get back up again until it is warm outside.
Stay warm, my Hordeling.
