So, we hit the garage this afternoon to try and get more shtuff cleaned out. We came across several large plastic bins which the wife, of course, had to pull out and go through.
Yes, I know we need to know what is in them so the contents can be sorted properly. I grabbed one and lifted it.
Great googlie mooglies! The thing weighed a ton.
I carried it out to the patio, where we had a little more room, set it down, pried off the tape holding the lid on, and opened it up.
It was filled with blankets and pillows. One wouldn’t think that they would be all that heavy. One would be wrong in thinking that.
I repeated this process five more times. Photo albums, toys, naked Barbie dolls (some decapitated ones too), books, clothes and miscellaneous shtuff.
A lot of it can go so it goes back into the garage for the eventual garage sale. Others were destined to go into the house to be kept.
In the process of all this I managed to pull a muscle in my lower back. Thus the title of this post. Bending and lifting added a whole new level of agony to the process after pulling the muscle.
When we got to the end of the bins (at least the ones we could get to in the garage – I’m fairly certain there are others) I had to call it quits. I left the bins on the back porch to be dealt with later.
The wife was good enough to rub some pain medicine into my lower back, and I got a short half hour nap. The back still hurt so I took a muscle relaxer. That helped immensely.
Later this evening, I was looking at the weather report and it said rain was expected overnight. The time to deal with the bins ‘later’ had arrived.
< heavy sigh >
I went out and hauled the several bins that we are keeping inside and the others back into the garage. My back was not happy about this. I guess I don’t recover as easily as I used to.
Now, off to get some sleep. I hope you’re doing well, my Hordeling.

Actually, this is what I originally thought your title was referring.

Hope you’re feeling better.
Yeah, I can see that one too.
