Busy, busy, busy

Been a crazy busy day today.

Woke up at 5:55 AM with a leg cramp so I decided to roll out of bed and get the day started.

Got some stuff done this morning, then off to a doctor’s appointment for the wife. That took us past noon, so we grabbed lunch, then headed off to Hobby Lobby so we could look for some corkboard.

Speaking of which, I have a large ceramic and / or plaster piggy bank. The thing is maybe a foot and a half to two feet long. It has some coins in it that I’d like to get out before we sell it. The problem is that there is no hole in the bottom of the pig to get the money out. I’m not sure how to best make a hole without damaging the rest of the bank. I was thinking maybe a drill, and just working it around the circumference of the hole I want. Or maybe a Dremel? If you’ve got any insight into the problem, my Hordeling, leave a comment and let me know.

Got some more stuff done in the afternoon, then got dinner cooking. Tried to take a short fifteen minute nap but the beasties interrupted it.

After dinner we tackled the dining room. This is the main “staging area” for things we intended to put in a garage sale. One of the ladies in the church is helping us plan an estate sale. Her recommendation is to skip doing a garage sale (big effort for small return), and separate the garage sale stuff into donations and estate sale. The donations get out of the house, and the estate sale has room to get set up. We can get higher prices during an estate sale, whereas garage sales are a race to the bottom when it comes to pricing / what people are willing to pay. It was a lot of effort but we got ninety percent (90%) of it done, and about half of that ninety percent is donations.

Tomorrow will be another busy day. Another doctor’s appointment for the wife first thing in the morning, then a day of tackling the other rooms to get as much stuff split into donation / estate sale. I figure the more stuff donated and out of the house, the better.

In the meantime, I’m going to go see if I can get some sleep.

Later!
