Ye flippin’ ghods!
Got up early, showered, had breakfast, got the dogs to the pet sitter, and put up signs around the neighborhood. All before 8:00 AM.
We had the initial swarm of buyers in a feeding frenzy to get to the ‘good stuff’ first. We were swamped for the first hour and a half or so.
I was still trying to tape all the drawers and cabinets with tape so the shoppers wouldn’t get into them. I was in the kitchen when one lady came in and started going through the silverware drawer, trying to select forks and knives. I told her none of it was or sale and I was still taping things off. She was nice about it and went off to other parts of the house.
We had several people right off the bat who raided my books and DVDs. At least they had good taste in their selections. Still, a few items got bought that I was hoping might make it through the sale and I could wrangle getting them to our next abode.
The rest of the day we had only one or two people at a time but it was fairly consistent.
We did get several people coming in just as we were trying to shut down for the day. We hadn’t taken into account that there is a school nearby ad parents were walking their kids home after school. The folks that did come in were ‘just looking’ but they may come back tomorrow to do some actual buying.
After we got everything shut down, I picked up the dogs, then took a short fifteen minute nap.
Then dinner, and spending the rest of the evening rearranging all the shelves ad surfaces to better display items. Since people bought stuff today we had some space to make some better displays of shtuff for sale.
As it is, I’m exhausted and have to get up early and do it all again tomorrow.
Wish us luck, my Hordeling, that more people come tomorrow and buy more shtuff so we don’t have to haul it to our new abode.
