We’ve gotten the insurance thing worked out for the wife to stay at the long-term care facility. It was a matter of getting the facility and the insurance company to communicate with each other, get the right information exchanged, and get her covered. Now she just has to pay the co-pay, which is better than having to pay for the whole time she will be there.
Got more work done on unboxing the house. I’ve gotten almost all of the boxes opened and looked through as we’re trying to find a few items. Much of it has been put away, but there is plenty more that will need the wife to decide what to do with them, like all her framed pictures, and her myriad of photo albums. I’m thinking she should digitize all her photos.
The last main room to go through is the wife’s Christmas room where all of her ornaments and decorations are located. She’ll have to deal with it as I have no hope of organizing it in any coherent way that the wife will be able to find something she wants. (Sort of like my filing cabinet, which no one is allowed to touch because I can’t find anything after they do.)
The wife and I have resumed playing Scrabble on a regular basis. She’s off her game, or I’ve made an immense leap forward in my skill, as we are fairly evenly matched now. She wins about half he time, and I win about half the time. Of course, when she wins, she is still beating me by a large margin, whereas I end up beating her by a few points. On a strange bit of letter placement, we had the word ‘fate’ played twice right next to each other on the board.
We had a chance to leave the long-term care facility for a little while this evening. Went out to eat at Subway, mainly because the wife had already eaten her dinner at the facility. Had the chicken teriyaki sandwich, chips ad a Dr. Pepper. Not the best meal for me, and it did raise my blood sugar, but it was tasty. It left me wanting more Dr. Pepper, though, which is not a Good Thing(tm).
