The wife’s turn at the organizing bat

  • by

So, now that the wife is out of the long-term care facility, our attention turns to getting the house more organized.

Despite my best efforts to get things unboxed and put away, there’s so much I can’t do as I have no idea of where the wife wants things. I’ve at least opened ninety-nine (99) percent of the boxes in the house and looked in them to see what they contain. It turns out that what the boxes were labeled didn’t always match up with the contents.

We spent time in the dining room today, and we did get through all the boxes in there. Some of them were easy – she had several framed pictures which we’ll have to find a place on the walls for later and a few boxes of photos she’ll need to sort through.

Some of the boxes had things she intended to donate before we left Texas but ran out of time to do so. Instead they ended up here. We got the boxes of donations ready although we’ll need to run some of the clothes through the wash first.

The rest of the boxes got redistributed through the house as they didn’t contain items that went in the dining room. I think only three boxes had appropriate items.

I’m glad we made at least some progress. The sooner we can get settled into the house, the better.

Anyway, I’m tired, need to finish a story I started on today, and need sleep.

Hope all goes well for you, my Hordeling.
