So, a few days go I was saying how you can’t get music on physical media anymore and how it made getting a birthday present for the wife rather difficult.
Well, it turns out that I did get the .MP3 files for the artist Dan Vasc that the wife wanted for her birthday. I then dug an old laptop out of storage and burned them on to a CD for her. We could still put them on a thumbdrive and play them in the car, or put them on my phone and do the same thing. At any ate, the wife is happy about them.
She is happy to the point of being obsessed. It seems like its Dan Vasc 24 / 7. I’ve created a monster.
The wife is down the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. She spends her day looking up Dan Vasc videos. She finds duets he has done with other artists. She compares his singing to the original artists. She talks about the range of musical genres he covers. She talks about his metal band. Any day now I expect pictures from teeny bopper magazines to appear on the walls of our home.
She calls out to me at various points of the day with interesting tidbits about him.
“He’s got his own metal band!”
“He plays Dungeons and Dragons!” (She knows this will pique my interest).
“He’s into retro gaming!” (As will this).
The wife is even expanding her media horizons. We have reinstated our Netflix account so we can watch The Witcher, because Dan Vasc did a cover of Toss A Coin To Your Witcher, a song from the series. Oooo! There’s a RPG too!
To be fair, she also wants to watch KPop Demon Hunters because our granddaughter likes it and we’ll have something to talk to her about. Also, the wife likes some of the songs from it. I’m really surprised about this because the wife hates animated anything.
I’m sure it will calm down. And I can’t say as his music is objectional. He’s decent.
At this point, though, I think we’re going to end up adopting him.
