Warning! This one gets kind of disgusting. If you wan to skip it, I’ll understand. See you tomorrow.
Still here? OK, things got messy last night. Real messy.
The wife and I were sleeping. Major Tom and Magdalena were in the bedroom, with Magdalena sleeping on the floor at the foot of the bed.
Around 2:30 AM I wake up to hear the noise of one of the dogs vomiting all over the carpet. I’m awake fairly quickly and getting out of bed in case it happens again. I’d just gotten out of bed, ascertained it was Magdalena throwing up, and was trying to get her out of the room and into the backyard in case she did it again. Too late. She horked all over the carpet again.
I got her out of the bedroom, and into the backyard. The other two dogs went with her.
I grabbed the paper towels, vinegar and baking soda then returned to the bedroom. I cleaned up the mess, but couldn’t get a lot of it out of the carpet. I put baking soda down to help absorb the odor and the wetness in the carpet.
The dogs came back in, I returned to the bedroom, and the dogs got shut out of the room. I crawled back in bed and went to sleep.
I woke up just before 7:00 AM. The wife woke up then too. She wanted me to get breakfast for her so I got up and opened the bedroom door.
That’s when I saw it.
There was a splash of diarrhea a few feet from the door. I looked further and there was more. All over the living room. It looked like there was vomit on the rug in the living room.
I carefully stepped around everything in the living room and got to the dining room. There was more vomit all over the dining room.
I finally got to the kitchen, and found more vomit and diarrhea.
I spent a little over an hour cleaning everything up. What a mess! I went through a entire roll of paper towels. I had to put baking soda over the spot on the rug to try to absorb it. I hand scrubbed all the floors.
I took a hot shower when I was done.
Much later in the day she threw up one more time. I couldn’t identify what it was but I suspect it was whatever upset her system before.
This was not a good start to the day. Things went a little better after all that, and in the Grand Scheme Of Things, there are plenty of other horrible ways the day could have started. All the same, I’d rather not have to do that again.
