I love my wife, I do, but she has a rather strange ability. Let me explain.
We’ll sit down to watch a TV program, or maybe a movie. I, myself, really need to know how how the story ends. I’ve watched some truly atrocious programs in the course of my lifetime because I needed to see how the story ended.
Anyway, we’ll sit down to watch something. Here’s where the wife’s uncanny ability comes in.
She’ll pick up the remote and stop the program, usually when there is five minutes left to go. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.
I’m not sure what proesses are going on in her mind. She’ll stop the program and say something like “We need blueberries from the grocery store.”
“And?”
“You should go get them.”
“But there’s five minutes left to go! Finish the program!”
Most of the time, but not always, we finish the program.
I don’t know how she does this but she is very consistent about it. She’s done it for years.
