The weather has turned, well, not quite nasty, but certainly not favorable.
The original forecasts predicted this storm hitting last Thursday, but as always, the weather is unpredictable. I got up this morning expecting things to be much worse than they were.
Fortunately, things were still relatively calm. We had to go out and pick up another prescription for the wife, and while we were out we stopped at the grocery store to buy a few more items. A lot of people were in the store, but it didn’t seem any busier than normal. Either all the locals already picked up their storm supplies, or they don’t think it will be as bad as the forecasts made it out to be.
We got back home and stayed in the rest of the day. We watched some TV, ate lunch, then the wife took a nap. I worked on the story for the upcoming Blog Hop but it isn’t coming together yet. I looked out the window at 2:14 PM and the snow had just started falling.
I took a nap as well and got up in time to make dinner. The snow continued to fall.
The dogs have been going in and out all day, as they usually do. They don’t seem to care that there is snow and cold weather. They go out, and when they come back in, they are all riled up and chase each other around. They haven’t knocked over anything yet, but that is most likely a matter of time.
After dinner we watched a little more TV, then I returned to working on the story.
The fast is continuing. I find that sitting around leads to eating because you’re bored. I found myself getting up several times during the day and looking for something to eat. Having cut out sweets there wasn’t really anything to gnosh on. I need to re-establish my eating discipline again anyway. With this weather though it is not a good time to have to give up hot chocolate. I will persevere.
Other than possibly getting out to go to church tomorrow, we are planning on staying in and hibernating. The snow is supposed to become more like sleet and ice overnight so that will play a part in our decision to leave the house or not.
I hope the weather is behaving itself where you are, my Hordeling.
