I wanna make a dice tower

  • by

Following on from yesterday’s post about ttrpg gaming accessories I have decided I need a dice tower.

There are plenty of dice towers on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/ and MyMiniFactory (https://www.myminifactory.com/), the difference mainly being Thingiverse models are free and MyMiniFactory models you have to pay for. There are several I like, but the biggest drawback to this plan is I don’t have access to a 3d printer. Should I go this route I’d likely print one of these two

I looked around for other crafty ideas for creating a dice tower. There are many on making a dice tower from a Pringles potato chip can and I finally settled on this one, should I go this route:

Ultimately though, I decided to go the papercraft route. I’ve always liked papercraft projects, from origami to papier-mâché. I’ve made PocketMods and notebooks, and all sorts of paper based things.

I went back though my files and remembered I’d purchased the Fat Dragon Games Ultimate Dice Tower a number of years ago, but have never sat down to make it. I think it is high time to change that.

If I get the opportunity I’ll make it over this weekend, or hopefully at least get started on it. I think I have the requisite patience and craft skills to be able to put this together. I do not have cardstock to print this out on, so I’m going to do the next best thing. I’m going to print it out on paper, then glue that to various food product cartons I have saved up for just such an occasion. From there I hope it will go as well as if I’d had cardstock to print it on. I will endeavor to take photos so I can document the process.

Got any crafty plans for this weekend, my Hordeling? Hit reply and let me know.

If you’d like to support my efforts, why not buy me a chocolate chip cookie through my Ko-Fi page? https://ko-fi.com/jhusum
