OK, this must be my Muse trying to get my attention, because I’ve run across this message several times over the last two days.
It seems like everywhere I turn I’m getting some variation of the same message.
Just start already.
The basic gist is that you’re never going to be one hundred percent perfectly ready. You can get caught up in a cycle of always trying to do one more thing that needs to be done before you start. One more piece of preparation. One more page to be written.
At some point you need to just start. Get the project launched, even if it isn’t in the perfect state and you don’t feel ready.
I’ve certainly been procrastinating on getting the supernatural soap opera going. I freely admit I don’t feel ready. And there is some resistance to moving forward. Concerns like I won’t be able to keep it going, or that I’ll write myself into multiple corners while trying to juggle multiple storylines. And the biggest fear that the whole thing will just suck.
I’ve done some writing on the project. And I’ve got the ideas for several storylines running around my brain. It should be enough to launch. Then I’ll just have to trust the Muse to keep it going.
So, I’m making the announcement that I’m launching the supernatural soap opera on September 1, 2026.
Boy, that’s scary, having typed that.
Thanks to the few folks that have believed in this project and encouraged me to do it. You know who you are.
